Mountains of Hope for Haiti is a mission of the New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. We serve in Haiti at the invitation of the Methodist Church of Haiti and partner with church leadership, local communities, volunteer teams, and other organizations to promote effective and long-term development.

Mountains of Hope for Haiti is founded on the principles that:

  • Every person is a child of God
  • Every person has a God-given right to health and medical care, adequate food, clean water, and an opportunity for education and meaningful employment
  • A long-term relationship with a community is the best and most effective way of enacting change and raising the quality of community life
  • We are in ministry with — and not to — our brothers and sisters in Haiti

“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture of their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom of their spirits.”
